Setting up an online platform for tasj has been such a long time coming, but I finally feel it’s time to make it happen. A lot of things have changed in my life over the past year (Seth and I relocated to New York and had a baby, to name just two!), but more importantly, my taste in art has really evolved. While I’m sure (and hope) it will continue to do so for the rest of my life, it was only after publishing the first photography-devoted issue of the magazine in June last year that I realized I needed to take a big step back and reevaluate my thoughts on the work I was seeing and talking to people about. Amongst other things, I wasn’t sure I knew what I liked and didn’t like anymore.

This realization came while Seth and I were in Kassel for the opening weekend of (d)OCUMENTA 13. We traveled to Switzerland for Art Basel the week after. On the second last day of the fair, when we were due to leave for Milan for a week of gallery, collector and studio visits, we learned that I was nearly 8 weeks pregnant. This unexpected (but very welcome!) news meant we had to quickly shift our priorities and plans for the year. Mosi was born on February 6, and while he still doesn’t sleep more than a couple hours at a time (which means I sleep even less), the time I ended up taking off during pregnancy and postpartum has given me a lot more clarity and appreciation for what is happening in the art world, and I’m looking forward to sharing some of that, and more, with you.

Thanks for reading!
